FOREX.com Review: The Most Complete US Forex Broker?
We funded a FOREX.com account, ran the RAW pricing account against the standard spread, counted currency pairs against OANDA, and tested Advanced Trading alongside MT5 to see which US broker actually gives you more.
Best for: US-based traders who want MetaTrader access, a wide pair list and a raw-spread option OANDA does not offer
FOREX.com is the more complete US forex broker once you count what OANDA skips: 80 currency pairs against roughly 68, a RAW account combining a near-zero spread with a flat $7 commission per $100k, and four platforms including both MT4 and MT5. StoneX's backing and a long NFA record remove most doubts about safety. RAW only pays off once volume is high enough to justify the commission, and a beginner on the commission-free 1.2 pip pricing may find OANDA simpler to reason about. Traders who want MetaTrader and range should pick FOREX.com.

A US trader picking a first broker usually ends up choosing between FOREX.com and OANDA. We opened both accounts, funded FOREX.com with $100, and priced out the RAW account against the standard one before deciding which broker deserved the wider pair list claim on its homepage.
Counting what is actually on offer
FOREX.com lists 80 tradeable currency pairs, spanning majors, minors and a long tail of exotics that OANDA does not match at around 68. That gap matters less if you only trade EUR/USD, but it is real for anyone who wants to hold a position in something like USD/ZAR or trade Scandinavian crosses without switching brokers.
Platform choice tells the same story. FOREX.com runs four separate environments: its own Advanced Trading desktop terminal, a browser platform with TradingView charting built in, and both MT4 and MT5 for traders who want an industry-standard tool. OANDA offers its own web platform plus MT4, but skips MT5 entirely. If you already have Expert Advisors built for MT5, FOREX.com is the only one of the two that runs them natively.
FOREX.com's own homepage backs this up with a stated average execution speed of 0.003 seconds, a figure that only matters if the fills actually land at the quoted price rather than slipping during volatile minutes. We placed a handful of market orders around the US jobs report release and saw slippage of half a pip at worst, in line with what the broker claims for its infrastructure.
RAW pricing versus the standard account
The account structure is where FOREX.com gets genuinely interesting. Its standard account is commission-free with spreads quoted from 1.2 pips on EUR/USD, roughly comparable to what OANDA charges on its own standard pricing. Step up to the RAW pricing account, though, and the spread compresses toward zero, with independently tested data from October 2025 putting the typical EUR/USD spread at 0.137 pips. A flat $7 commission per $100k traded gets added on top, working out near $3.50 per side of a standard lot.
Run the arithmetic and RAW only wins once your position sizes are large enough that the tighter spread outpaces the commission. A trader doing one micro lot a week has no reason to bother with it. Someone trading several standard lots a day will save real money switching over, and unlike some raw accounts elsewhere, the $100 minimum deposit to open RAW is the same as the standard account, so there is no real barrier to trying it.
